Three things that decide whether you can move to Spain or not

In our years helping people move to Spain, we have seen how much these three things shape everything that follows, and how hard it is when they are missed. Getting them clear, for your exact situation, is where we always start.

Step 1

Ensure you can get eligible healthcare

Whether or not you are an EU citizen, you need to show that you have compliant healthcare, whether public or private. Without it, there is no point in applying for a visa or residency.

From Experience:

David came to us at 81, ready to go, with a place in mind and his heart set on Spain. But he had a serious heart condition, and try as we might, no insurer would cover him with the policy his residency required. We had to tell him the move could not happen.

Step 2

Non-EU citizens: Ensure you qualify for a visa

Without a visa for Spain, you cannot live here for longer than 90 days in any 180-day period. The right pathway depends on how you support yourself, and on meeting the other requirements that come with it.
