Originally from Los Angeles, California, Marsha moved to Spain alone in 2017 at the age of 70. She’s been living her best life ever since. As a lifelong night owl, Spain’s schedule suits her perfectly.

The safety she feels on Madrid’s streets allows her to fully enjoy its glorious days and vibrant nights. Before moving to Spain, Marsha worked in Hollywood for 20 years as an Assistant Director on major feature films and prime-time television.

She tells stories of her encounters with celebrities on TikTok as “Roaming Crone”. As a freelance journalist, she has had over 100 articles published in American magazines.

Best Spanish Cultural Experience

I was honored to be invited to a Basque cooking club in Pamplona. I helped prepare typical Basque dishes and shared a wonderful dinner, wine, and extended sobremesa with delightful friends from Navarra. It was an experience unique to Northern Spain.

Embarrassing Spanish Language Fail

I thought I was asking someone to send me his bill. He told me that I was actually asking him to send me a broken bone. I had confused “factura” and “fractura”. We got a good laugh out of it.

Most Used Spanish Phrase

“¡Todo bien!” (“All good”). I say this a few times a day because, in Spain, life is always good.
