Kate grew up in the UK and spent many summer holidays in Spain. Her family bought a small village house in Andalucia in 1989, so Spain was home from home for many years. In 2014 Kate finally made the move to Spain to live the dream!
Luckily, Kate moved to Spain before BREXIT and has Spanish permanent residency (PR).
Kate has navigated many bureaucratic hurdles in her time in Spain, moving home, buying and selling property, raising a mortgage, and choosing a school for her daughter. So she has lots of knowledge of the pitfalls and how to avoid them.
Kate enjoys Spanish life with her husband, Nick, and her 17-year-old daughter, Lizzie. She loves exploring nearby towns and villages and eating a good Menú del día (the famous set menu lunches found across Spain). She’s also partial to a cocktail or two!
How sociable it is. The Spanish live outside. The numerous bars and cafes are always bustling until well into the early hours. And yet the atmosphere is always “tranquila” or relaxed.
May and October. The weather is perfect, and the crowds have subsided.
Kate moved house 6 times in 5 years, all within a 3-mile radius of Sitges! What she doesn’t know about the rental market and removal companies isn’t worth knowing.
